Second hand Saddles not stored on site.
When booking your appointment for a saddle fitting for second hand saddles, please allow a couple of days as the saddles are not stored on site.  Let me know what size, width and type of saddle (GP, Dressage, Jump, Working Hunter, Show) as best you can and I will select the saddles to bring to you on the day of your appointment.

Please be aware if you specify just one colour this can limit what maybe available.

To name a few, here are some of the brands we have in at various times:

  • Albion
  • Barnsby
  • Cardanel
  • Clover Hil
  • Crosby
  • Dever
  • Falcon

Different saddles are coming in all the time giving you a huge range to choose from.  I will advise you on what to look for and the aftercare in keeping your saddle as comfortable and safe as possible for you and your horse.

Please also be aware that there are occasions where none of the available saddles fit and therefore saddles WILL NOT be sold to you, yet with you and your horses measurements and back templates on record we can look out for a saddle that is more suitable.  Or if you then wish to have a saddle made for you and your horse we can discuss this.

Please note, that with more and more research taking place we are gaining a lot more information of our interaction with horses.  It is very much that continual assessment of your horse, you as a rider and your tack must be carried out regularly due to the amount of complex factors.

Recommendations are now that saddlefit must be checked every 3 months.  This does not mean literally that just the saddle is looked at but the rider and horse as a whole combination.

Your saddle should be checked internally every 2 years to confirm there is no damage to the tree, girthing setup and to renew flocking (in a flocked saddle) think of this as an MOT and service on your car to ensure safety for both you and your horse and to ensure the longevity of your saddle.  Please note, especially when purchasing second hand saddles it is not possible to know when the last service was completed on your saddle and is your responsibility when you have purchased the saddle to have this completed.
